新西(xi)蘭的(de)高(gao)等教(jiao)(jiao)育機構包括(kuo)(kuo)大(da)學(xue)、理工學(xue)院和(he)教(jiao)(jiao)育學(xue)院。到目前為(wei)止，新西(xi)蘭共(gong)有8所公(gong)立(li)大(da)學(xue)。這些大(da)學(xue)開辦一系列(lie)的(de)標準學(xue)位(wei)課(ke)程，其(qi)中(zhong)包括(kuo)(kuo)理科、文科和(he)近年來興起(qi)的(de)商科和(he)信息科學(xue)。

　　新西蘭的理(li)工學(xue)(xue)(xue)(xue)院目前(qian)共有18所，提(ti)供各種職(zhi)業(ye)及技(ji)術培訓，包括短(duan)期課(ke)(ke)程和三年(nian)制、四(si)年(nian)制的專業(ye)學(xue)(xue)(xue)(xue)位(wei)、文憑、證書課(ke)(ke)程。部(bu)分(fen)理(li)工學(xue)(xue)(xue)(xue)院和大學(xue)(xue)(xue)(xue)可(ke)以互相轉換學(xue)(xue)(xue)(xue)分(fen)(例如(ru)商科)，學(xue)(xue)(xue)(xue)生在理(li)工學(xue)(xue)(xue)(xue)院所修某些課(ke)(ke)程學(xue)(xue)(xue)(xue)分(fen)為(wei)大學(xue)(xue)(xue)(xue)所承認(ren)，其畢業(ye)后入(ru)讀大學(xue)(xue)(xue)(xue)可(ke)以免修有關課(ke)(ke)程。

　　新西蘭大學(xue)的(de)學(xue)位(wei)由新西蘭大學(xue)校(xiao)長(chang)委員會下設的(de)學(xue)術委員會批(pi)準，而理工(gong)學(xue)院及極少數私(si)立高等教育(yu)學(xue)校(xiao)所授(shou)的(de)文憑由新西蘭資格認(ren)證局 (NZQA) 負責審批(pi)和監督。
